From the immensity of the forest, the rubber tree became the symbol of extractivism in the Amazon and motivated the struggle for an ideal of conservation and sustainability. This tree is present in the original founding brand of SOS Amazônia (in September 1988), when professors, university students and representatives of the social movement, including rubber tapper leader Chico Mendes, created the SOS Amazônia Association.
Three decades after its foundation, SOS Amazônia revisits its first visual identity and presents a new brand with the proposal to connect the past and the present, people and nature, the city and the forest. The process of building this new brand was guided by one word: rescue! Just as a tree cannot sustain itself without its roots, our present performance is connected to our origins, to our essence.
For this reason, the new brand has the rubber tree cuts again, in features that are also present throughout nature, in the shape of a flower, at the meeting of two rivers, in the tangle of trees, in the design of an animal… The color The main one is green, in reference to the greatness of the forest and also for being a color of optimism and hope, virtues that the world needs to cultivate.
Our struggle for forest conservation is a cause that transcends borders and gains global prominence. From the forest comes our work, our livelihood, our waters, our inspiration and for the forest we fight.
